  • I want to attend the Conference and pay the ICD member rate. Do I have to renew my membership?
    Yes, to receive the member rate, you must be a member in good standing. Please contact membership@icd.ca to renew your membership prior to registering for the 2023 ICD National Director Conference.
  • Who typically attends the ICD National Director Conference & Fellowship Awards Gala?
    The primary audience for the Conference is comprised of seasoned and emerging directors, as well as c-suite and senior executives who serve on boards or aspire to do so.
  • Can non-members register for the 2023 ICD National Director Conference?
    Yes, both members and non-members can register.
  • Can I register a group?
    Group tickets rates to the ICD National Director Conference are not offered at this time.

    A table of 10 seats at the Fellowship Awards Gala can be purchased. To purchase a table at the Fellowship Awards Gala, please contact conference@icd.ca.

  • Can I register onsite?

    We strongly recommend that you register in advance of the conference due to limited capacity.

     
  • I registered early but can no longer attend. Can I be reimbursed?

    In-person Conference and Gala registration cancellations must be received in writing via email no later than Friday, May 26, 2023. Cancellations received by this date will be eligible for a partial refund to attend virtually. Cancellations received on or after May 27, 2023 are non-refundable. Please note than an administration fee of $50.00 will apply to each cancellation.
     
    Virtual Conference registrations are non-refundable.  
    Plenary sessions are recorded and available to registered delegates.
     
    If you are unable to attend in-person, delegate substitution is permitted up to Friday, May 26, 2023.  Please email conference@icd.ca with the replacement contact information.
     
    Virtual Conference registration is non-transferable.

  • Can anyone attend the pre-conference welcome reception?
    Only registered conference delegates are invited to attend the welcome cocktail reception.
  • Will I receive continuing education units (CEUs) for attending the 2023 ICD National Director Conference?

    Yes, you can earn up to 10 CEUs. Directors with the ICD.D designation are eligible for continuing education units (CEUs) for attending the following: National Director Conference (8 CEUs) and Fellowship Awards Gala (2 CEUs).  

    The ICD National Director Conference may be eligible for CE credits with other professional designation bodies. We encourage you to check with the organizations you are affiliated with.

  • Will each presentation be recorded?
    Keynote sessions will be recorded and available to virtual and in-person registered delegates for a set time following the conference.  ICD follows Chatham House Rules for our conferences and events.
  • Is seating assigned?

    Seating is not assigned for the 2023 ICD National Director Conference.

    Seating is only assigned at the Fellowship Awards Gala. Seating maps and assignment lists will be posted throughout the National Conference and at the registration desk for the Fellowship Awards Gala.

    Please email conference@icd.ca with any special table requests by May 25, 2023 5 p.m. ET. We will do our best to accommodate requests received after this time but can not be guaranteed.

  • What is the dress code?
    ICD has a suggested dress code of business attire for the 2023 ICD National Director Conference and cocktail attire for the Fellowship Awards Gala. Delegates are welcome to wear what is most comfortable. 
  • Does the ICD offer a discounted rate to stay at Le Centre Sheraton Montreal?

    Yes, the negotiated ICD guest room rate is $249 plus taxes and fees.     Note that the ICD Conference rates are not applicable over the 2023 Montreal Grand Prix, June 15-18, 2023

  • Where can I see the list of conference attendees?
    The ICD does not make available our delegate lists. We do encourage conference attendees to engage with each other including via the ICD National Director Conference app. 

    The 2023 ICD National Director Conference and Fellowship Awards Gala app will be available for download on June 12, 2023 at 12 pm EDT.
     
  • How can I access the ICD National Director Conference App?
    The link to download the mobile and desktop Conference app will be provided to all registrants in advance via your registered email. 
  • What is ICD’s protocol regarding the use of photography at the 2023 ICD National Conference and Fellowship Awards Gala?

    Photographs may be taken at this event, and photographs may be published in various media, including print and online, without further notice. If you have questions about the use of event photographs by the ICD, please contact RStrang@icd.ca

    The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), its partners and event attendees may also post discussions and pictures on various social media channels. We encourage event participants to engage in discussions via Twitter and LinkedIn and to include the hashtag #ICDConference2023.  

    The ICD also regularly hosts events that operate under a modified Chatham House Rule – that is that contributions may be published but are not to be attributed to any individual speaker. Invitations to such events will explicitly state that the event is operating under such restrictions. 

  • Are members of the media able to attend?

  • What is ICD’s COVID-19 protocol?

    Conference attendees should be aware that, while we will make every effort to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission on site, it is possible that attendees may encounter people in airports, hotels, and around the meeting facility who could potentially carry the virus. 

    We reserve the right to implement protocols should government regulations be adjusted or should a known outbreak within the conference facility occur.  By attending the conference and picking up a delegate badge at check-in, conference attendees agree to comply with current health and safety protocols.  In addition, by receiving and wearing a badge, all delegates agree to respect each individual attendee’s comfort level of concern about the ongoing risk of infection from COVID-19 and other viruses.

    *Definition of attendees – Registrants, guests, staff, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors of the event who are 18 or older and attending in person. 

  • I registered for the Gala but have now been invited to sit at a sponsor table. Can I be reimbursed?
    As with previous Fellowship Gala Awards evenings, refunds are not applicable for advance or on-site invitations to join a sponsor or group table for the Fellowship Awards Gala.  
     
  • I am attending in-person, can I still watch the recorded sessions?
    Following the conference, access to the recorded keynote speakers and Virtual Conference sessions will be available to all virtual and in-person conference attendees on your mobile, tablet or laptop. A link will be sent to all virtual and in-person attendees approximately one week following the conference.
     
  • What platform does the ICD utilize for the 2023 National Director Conference and Gala?
    To provide our conference delegates with an optimum digital experience, we are using the EventMobi app. A link and QR Code will be available in pre-conference communications and on-site in Montreal to download the ICD Conference app.   
     
  • Who do I contact for troubleshooting issues with the 2023 ICD National Director Conference app?
    For assistance leading up to and over the conference, please contact conference@icd.ca.

  • Where do I pick up my name badge?

  • Do I need to pre-select breakout sessions?
    We are asking in-person attendees to indicate their preference for breakout sessions in advance so that we can appropriately set up each room. Two sessions will be conducted in English and one in French for robust roundtable discussions.
     
  • Where do I pick up translation headsets?
    If you requested a translation headset for the Main Plenary Sessions or Gala (English to French) on Wednesday June 14th or the QC Chapter Breakfast on Thursday June 15th (French to English), please pick them up at the Registration or Help Desks located on the 4th Floor at Le Centre Sheraton.
